23 Jan 2008, #10a. "Panama Hat" - 4m30s

This piece (and its partner, "Captain's Cap") is performed with the sostenuto pedal depressed to keep the lower half of the keyboard undamped. This provides some interesting sonorities. Again I went for consonance, and stayed within C major.

Thank you. This much improves a very cold, grey, wet, and workful day.

...i think i'm waiting for some changes in dynamics (or something) that don't happen in the second minute. though that sense/my reaction may be due to something in the sound quality of the recording rather something in the playing.
